Full Time
Lead the day-to-day operations of the youth ministry. Develop a relational ministry with the youth through the use of prayer, message, small group, one on one ministry and community events. Implement plans and support operational leaders as they implement plans for the following ministry areas:
- Soul Food (band)
- Middle School Ministry
- Senior High Ministry
- Confirmation
- Missions
- Small Groups
With the help of the youth ministry administrator, recruit, train, and sustain all youth ministry operational leaders.

Responsibilities
include utilizing talents, training, and unique gifts to minister to youth
and their families, helping guide their spiritual growth. The Director of
Youth and Family Ministries will serve as a leader, teacher, and mentor in
strengthening the youth and parent relationship with Jesus Christ. his
will be accomplished in partnership with the youth, families, parents,
pastors, adult volunteers, congregation, staff, and various committees
through a variety of avenues.
We
are looking for a person of faith with a strong sense of call to youth and
family, positive and effective interpersonal and communication skills. We
are looking for someone with working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word,
Outlook, Publisher, etc). Education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities include selecting and leading music for the Contemporary Worship Service and our Contemporary Worship Band which also includes weekly rehearsals. A strong musical background is preferred and organization skills are vital.

This person would lead and equip a youth
worship band that rehearses once a month and leads worship for their peers
once a month at our Soul Food evening.
Skills needed for this paid position include a musical background in instrumentation and chords, the ability to
recruit and equip youth in leading worship, and a strong relationship with
God. This position begins in August.

This position
will be responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors of the
Deaconess Community for overseeing the management and administration of
the finances, programs and operations of the Deaconess Community, ELCA.
This person will work in partnership with the Board of Directors,
Directing Deaconess, and staff to provide leadership, vision, and
direction for the organization. Develops and implements organizational
strategy.
Candidates must have these qualifications: considerable
knowledge of and commitment to Christian Stewardship; must be an active
member of an ELCA / ELCIC congregation; Bachelor Degree in Business or
related field, minimum of 5 to 7 years in an organizational management
position with a working understanding of non-profits; skilled in areas of
communications: oral, written and electronic; must relocate to Chicago and
the ability to do job related travel; subject to all appropriate
background checks.
