Our ELCA has a wealth of resources online. You can go to www.ELCA.org and type in any subject in the search box and be taken to the particular area of interest of the many possibilities of our ELCA website
You can receive our ELCA News Releases prepared for the media by subscribing to the news release service. You will receive the first paragraph of the news stories followed by a link. If you have no interest in a particular story, you may simply delete the e-mail. If you are interested in learning more, you can click on the link and immediately receive the entire news story. Go to www.ELCA.org and type “news releases” into the search box and you will be taken to a page from which you can subscribe. If you decide you don’t want to get them, you can simply “unsubscribe.”
A new and interesting site is the Living Lutheran site: www.livinglutheran.com
This site is attempting to be less formal and to provide stories written by Lutherans and submitted to the site. Anything you or your congregation is doing may be of interest to the editors of this site. It has the feel of a local newsletter and is worth checking out.
Our ELCA also is involved in e-advocacy. Lutherans believe advocacy is a public witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ where the Church speaks with and on behalf of others in need. ELCA advocacy works for change in public policy based on the experience of Lutheran ministries, programs, and projects around the world and in communities across the United States. Learn what is happening and be a part of the ELCA advocacy effort by signing up for the e-Advocacy network. The advocacy office takes positions consistent with ELCA social policy language and with reference to this church’s membership in ecumenical and international bodies.
To learn more about the mission and ministries of our ELCA, spend some time surfing the website. You are guaranteed to find something new and interesting every time!
