Confirmation Ministry Dialogue in Twenty-First Century Family Ministry
Pastors, lay congregation staff, and parents have been asking how to invite and encourage our youth to engage fully in the confirmation process, with an eye towards a mature Christian faith. The synod is hosting two “Confirmation Ministry Dialogue” sessions to begin exploring confirmation ministry in the twenty-first century. Pastors; youth directors; and children, youth & family ministry leaders are invited to attend a dialogue to begin walking together an exciting but challenging journey in our congregations.
There will be two opportunities for dialogue:

Thanks for Helping Give Voice to Malaria
To give voice to the millions of children affected by malaria, some generous people helped decorate nearly 700 cutouts of children, each with a real child’s story attached.
Special thanks to the following individuals and groups: confirmation students from Bethel, Good Shepherd, People of Hope, and Mount Olive Lutheran churches in Rochester; quilting friends of Ruth Friedli from Good Shepherd, Rochester; and members of the synod’s Hunger Task Force.

Each seat had a “child” ready to greet a voting member. On the back was a story of a real child affected by malaria.
