(Plainview)—Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plainview, Minnesota, holds an annual chili and soup supper in November to support the local food shelf. Good Shepherd members and local businesses provide a variety of soups and chilis. Confirmation students and their parents serve the meal and then clean up (while having some fun!). Over 220 community members come for soup, chili, and dessert—but mainly for the fellowship.
Over 30 confirmation students presented a $2,000 check to the food shelf director. Good Shepherd helped found the food shelf, and many adults also serve weekly to distribute food. We celebrate the important role that this food shelf plays in the community!
