Children and Family Minister

Overview: The Children and Family Minister leads and nurtures Zumbro Lutheran Church's ministry with families, helping children from birth through 5th grade and their families grow in faith in Jesus, develop meaningful relationships with others, and carry that faith forward into daily life. 

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and direct a vibrant faith formation ministry for children birth–5th grade and their families throughout the program year, including Sunday Faith Formation and Wednesday Club Z, developmentally appropriate Christian education, monthly activities, seasonal offerings, and parent groups.
2. Develop and direct summer ministries that may include, but are not limited to VBS, VBS+, Art Camp, Family Camp, 5th-6th grade mini-mission trips, etc.
3. Plan and execute regular children's, family, and parent events that build community and deepen faith.
4. Oversee Milestone Ministries for families with children birth–5th grade, including Bibles, First Communion, and other creative, meaningful markers of faith growth.
5. Coordinate and lead Story Time (Children's Sermon) in worship.
6. Collaborate with staff to provide pastoral care for families in times of both celebration and need.

Qualifications:

1. Genuine love and respect for people and a passionate commitment to teamwork.
2. Significant experience working with children and families, particularly in curriculum development and implementation and event planning.
3. Demonstrated ability to inspire and equip volunteers across diverse teams for Children and Family Ministry programming.
4. Strong written and oral communications skills.
5. Bachelor's Degree required; degree in Education or Early Childhood preferred.
6. Proficiency with standard church and office technology platforms.

Compensation: $46,000-$50,000

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (ELCA) is seeking a part-time (10-20 hours per month) intern to provide leadership and to host/lead activities for our high school-age members.  Working with our Coordinator for Christian Life, the Youth Intern will focus on fellowship and service projects, alternating between Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.  Saint Peter’s Youth (SPY) has a large, dedicated youth room equipped with a library, smart TV, a gaming console, and other recreational equipment. We’re seeking an intern who can provide leadership beyond the peer-to-peer relationship.  The Youth Intern and the Christian Life Coordinator together will foster a dynamic where teens come not only for fellowship but also for engagement in the life of the church.

Summary:  Zumbro Lutheran Church is looking for someone to lead worship at our small but growing band-led worship service. If you are a worship leader (singer, guitar player, or piano player) and passionate about great band-led worship in a progressive theological setting…then this is for YOU!

Overview: The role of the Worship Band Leader is primarily responsible for advancing the vision and mission of Zumbro Lutheran Church (ZLC) by designing, creating, building, and leading band-led worship as a ministry whose purpose is to share the love of Jesus through music. 

Compensation: $46,000-$50,000

Responsibilities: 

1. Passionately and collaboratively contribute to the creative envisioning and the detailed implementation of band-led worship (music selection, worship order, space design, lighting and screen design, and other worship content, etc.). 
2. Select, arrange, and direct all musical offerings for worship services (Sundays @10:30 and ACE Wednesday nights ) every week with occasional midweek offerings in Advent, Lent, Holy Week, Christmas Eve, etc.). 
3. Serve as the lead musician and worship leader for band-led worship (10:30am Sundays & ACE Wednesdays - Youth Band). 
4. Coordinate and lead music/band rehearsals. 
5. Actively recruit musicians for the whole of music ministry at Zumbro, with emphasis on band-led worship and Youth Band. 
6. Collaborate with Director of Worship Arts in regards to church music, hymnody, liturgy, contemporary resources, the liturgical calendar, festivals of the church, and the role of music in Lutheran worship. 
7. Attend staff and worship planning meetings (flexible). 

Qualifications: 

1. A love and respect for people and a passion for being a team player. 
2. Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and an enthusiastic missional outlook for music’s role in a congregational setting. 
3. Collaborative leadership skills to support the work of the worship team (staff and volunteers). 
4. Previous experience leading a worship band. 
5. Proficient with worship planning and production software (ProPresenter and Planning Center: Services), or willing and able to learn. 
6. Passionate about creating and supporting meaningful worship experiences both in-person and online that are reflective of the Lutheran theological perspective and/or a progressive and inclusive theological perspective.
